Inside…

Here’s the rest of my house mini album. For the journaling I used the lyrics to one of my favorite songs, Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. I had the idea for a while and finally did it. All the papers are by Create Paper. I love all their new lines! (click on the pics to make them bigger)

Challenge complete

As some of you might remember Ann-Marie and I started doing our weekly challenges a few months ago then life got in or way and it’s been slightly forgotten. Well I finally got caught up on all the challenges.

My challenge: crate a layout with our using your favorite color.

This was really a big challenge for me. I started like 3 different layouts but then accidentally used pink so I had to start the challenge again.

Next was Ann-Marie’s challenge: Hidden journaling

OK the next challenge: create a layout using tissue paper.

Have fun!

Productive

This past week I have been able to get a lot of crafty stuff done. It feels to good to accomplish some things I have been wanting to do for a while. I did 11 layouts, made curtains for my scrap room, and made this pillow.

It’s amazing how creating things can be so therapeutic. Even though I’m still super sad about Heidi (see previous post) I feel more at peace with it. We miss her and preschool has been somber this past week. Everyone is morning her loss. We have such a supportive group of parents that I am so thankful for.

Heavy heart

This afternoon I received a super sad phone call. My boss called to inform me that one of my students mothers had passed away this morning. She was strapping her children in the car when it started to roll back dragging her 60ft (you can read the story here). I was in complete shock by the news. We had spoke on facebook just hours before. My heart goes out to her family. She has 3 children all under the age of 4 and the youngest is just a few months old. Those poor children, her poor husband. Please say a little prayer that they have strength to go on. I can’t even imaging what they must be going through. Completely devastating.

This is the most unfortunate reminder that life is SO short and things can change in an instant. So please hug your loved ones and tell them you love them everyday. You never know what turns life can take.

To all my friends and family that read this I LOVE YOU! And I’m so happy to have you in my life!!!

Mothers Day Decor

This year I am hosting a Mothers Day brunch at my house. I can’t wait! Here are some sneaks of a few things I made yesterday for the party:

Pieces of a garland for the patio

I made a ribbon for each mother that is coming to brunch. Can’t wait until one day I can have a reason to wear one 😉
