Pregnancy journal

pregnancy journal 2

This upcoming weekend will mark the halfway point in my pregnancy. It’s going SO fast! So I decided if I wanted to document this pregnancy I better get on it. Once baby comes I’m sure all my focus will be on her.

Since I wasn’t quite sure how I wanted to document it I’ve been keeping notes and stories in a journal.

I’ve been trying to soak in every moment thus far. And feeling really blessed for mild symptoms! I feel for woman who have rough pregnancies. It’s such a special time in ones life and when you feel crappy it’s hard to enjoy it.

Wishing all your pregnant mommies out there smooth pregnancies and healthy babies 🙂

Happy Easter & DIY Easter bags

This year we actually get to stay home and partake in our Families Easter festivities! With Easter being during spring break we are typically driving to or from my happy place so we don’t get to enjoy it. Well this year we do and I’m so excited! I made these little bags for my niece and nephew. They were so easy too!

4-14 011

Below are the products I used4-14 013

1) Simply stamp the bags with the large background stamp and stamp the words

2) Hand sew the ribbon on

3) Adhered the bunnies then secured them with one stitch (they are self adhesive)

4) Fill with your favorite goodies!

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter!!

Challenge #3 // Bring back an old obsession

Do have that one product (or maybe many) you used to use all the time then one day just stopped? You probably still have a bunch of it sitting there staring at you every time you enter your craft space. Well for me that’s ribbon. I have been collecting (maybe even hoarding) ribbon for sometime now and I really don’t use it on layouts anymore. Every now and then I bust some out to wrap a present but haven’t really got creative with it in a while…until now! ImageImage

It was fun playing with it again! I really think it stopped being my go to when washi came into my life. Now I’m bringing back the ribbon and challenging myself to use it in combo with washi on future layouts.

What’s a product you used to use a lot of and now never touch?

We challenge you to get it out and play! Hopefully you’ll have a renewed love for it. And don’t forget to check out what Dana’s old obsession is.

Have a great week!

Challenge number 2 // hand paint your title

Our challenge this time was to hand paint a title on your layout. Brush script is everywhere now and we wanted to give it a try. Now I don’t love my handwriting but I try to embrace it. I always think about the fact that one day someone might want to look back and see my writing.  I love to look at handwriting on my older relatives. It’s like a little piece of them that lives on.Image

For  this layout I  my gelatos with water to make a watery paint, then I painted in on the page.  ImageTo make the gold star bursts I used a Jenni Bowlin mask, spread some modeling paste over it and sprinkled the glitter on while wet.

I love just using the sparingly on the page.

Below are a few of the main supplies I used on this layout. The 6X6 paper pad is from Target, it’s one of my faves!

Don’t forget to checkout the layout Dana has made using a hand painted title!

As always you are welcome to play along! We would love to see what you create so please link yours in the comments below. And if posting on instagram tag with #pysc2014 (push yourself scrapbook challenge)

Challenges are back!

This year one of my major goals to use my supplies. Nothing motivates me more than a good challenge 🙂

My sweet friend Dana agreed to embark on the adventure of doing these challenges along with me.  I was so excited to have someone to keep me accountable! We will be posting new challenges on the 1st and 15th of every month.

Our first challenge is to use an old line you’ve been saving but haven’t used

Well I had quite a few to choose from,  I ended up using an old line by Elsie Flanagan for K I  Memories circa 2006. Yep, I have paper that old. And I actually still like it!

march 1 009-1

These colors just lent themselves to a Valentines theme layout. And seeing as it was just a few weeks ago the timing couldn’t have been better.

Here is how I used these products:

march 1 005-1 march 1 006-1 march 1 002-1

Even though the products are very old (especially in scrapbook land!)  I was still able to create a layout I love! That’s what I was hoping to get out of this and all of the challenges. It’s great when life works out the way you want it to, ha! Because we all know most of the time it doesn’t 🙂

If you would like to play along with us please do! Link up your layouts in the comment section below. And don’t forget to check back on the 15th for our next challenge!

Happy scrappin’

2013 Moments Remembered

feb 2014 003-1Last year flew by and I wanted to create a layout highlighting some of my favorite moments. This was one of those layouts I thought about making for a while but just couldn’t visualize it. Then one day it all just came together. During a recent trip to Micheal’s I picked up a package of some recollections wooden frames. They were sitting there in the package when I noticed, hey there’s 12 in there! And the rest just feel into place.

Layouts like this are my favorite, when they just come together so easy and you get to use up bits and pieces of your stash.

Happy crafting!

One Little Word // 2014

fulfill with def

As 2014 drew closer I was staring to feel a little panicked because I couldn’t think of a word for the new year. Usually it comes fairly easily. So one night I sat in bed browsing the online thesaurus until it hit me, FULFILL! It conveyed what I wanted to accomplish this year. I have many big goals this year and needed something to help keep me on track. A reminder to do something each day to work towards those goals. To FULFILL them!

olw list

This is my sixth year choosing a word. Some years they have been more prevalent and some not so much. In 2011 I took Ali’s class and it really helped me focus on my word. I highly recommend her class! She is so inspiring and amazing. This year I choose to take again and am so happy I did!

Are you playing along with One Little Word this year? If so how are you staying connected to your word?

Happy 2014!

new years 006

Whohoo it’s a new year! I was ready. Not that last year was bad, it just wasn’t my favorite. So I’m ready for new, bigger and better things. Let’s do this 2014!

Here’s a quick tutorial on how I made the ‘2014’

Cut your numbers, star and starburts (I used my Silhouette Cameo for that)

new years 001

Grab a few strands of foil garland, hold it on the number and stick over it. do this until you’ve got a good amount on the number. Once you area happy with the amount you have trim the edges. Next sew on the stars and starburts.

new years 002

After sewing all this fun stuff on the numbers punch hole in them and sting them. Ta-da easy peasy! It probably took me less than an hour to do all of them. and how fun would this be for a birthday? The possibilities are endless!
