This is why….

I haven’t made anything in a while:

That is my ‘old’ scrap room and the mess it has become during the transition to my ‘new’ room. I’m having fun doing my new room but I miss actually creating scrappy things. I should be back in action soon! Here are a few more pics of how I had things stored in my old room:

It’s coming together!

This weekend I was able to get a good amount done in my new scrap room. Last night I was in such a grove organizing I didn’t want to stop but then it was 1am and I decided I better go to bed so I could wake up for work. All the cabinets are built except for the bench which is going under my window. I am loving the process of going through everything finding new ways to store them. Here’s a little peek at some of the details.

Hopefully I’ll be crafting in no time 🙂

Snuggle…

Right now all I want to do is snuggle with my little baby guy:

How can I resist that face?!?!

So my scrap room redo it in full swing! It’s so much work but coming together. Everything feels like it’s taking a long time because we are making it from scratch. Jeff has built and installed cabinets and I’ve been painting them. Hopefully tonight will be the last night of painting! I’m making a note to take photos along the way (I keep forgetting to). Tomorrow I should be able to share some progress pics 🙂

Weekend photos

This weekend Jeff and I had a lovely valentines getaway! It was so much fun and super relaxing. We stayed at Lowes Coronado Bay Resort. I loved the hotel! The staff were very friendly and our room was awesome! We would defiantly recommend it. Here are a few pics from the hotel:

Challenges are back!

Happy Monday!

My friend Ann-Marie and I are starting our weekly challenges again! I’ve missed doing them. I t helps keep my creative juices going. Last time was her turn to choose. Her challenge was to create a holiday layout. Here’s my layout:

This picture was taken the first Christmas Jeff and I were together. It feels like yesterday and a lifetime away all at the same time!

My challenge for you is to use a new color combo that doesn’t include your favorite color. My most fave color in all the land is pink and I would say 99.9% of my layouts include pink somewhere. Not this time! Lets see if I can do it 🙂

Happy challenges!

p.s. you can play along too! Just leave a comment with a link to your project.

Love book

This year I decided to to do a version of December Daily for Valentines day! I made this little book as a spot for Jeff and I to write little notes to each other as well as put pictures and special mementos. It’s made from the Pink Paislee line Sweetness.

I hope everyone has a great month full of love!

We enjoyed a wonderful day at my dads Sunday. We played with my camera, enjoyed an amazing sunset and a little entertainment put on by me 🙂 this is my best spider monkey impression. Have a great day!

OLW project

I made this canvas for my scrapbook room. My original plan was to go with some sort of chipboard letter but none of the ones I had on hand looked quite right. So I decided to paint the word instead. I don’t love it but I don’t love my handwriting in general either so I might be a bit bias. I figured I will live with if for a while and if I really don’t like it then I can always paint over it later.

The background is one of my new favorite techniques! I also have done it on a layout and mini book cover that I will share later. Tomorrow I will be back with a step by step on how to get that effect, it’s super fun and easy!!!

Have a great night!
