On instagram @schonakessler hosted a project life card swap. Each person makes 15 cards, sends them to her then you get back 1 cards made by other people. I decided to join in the fun! This is a sample of the ones I made for the swap. It was so fun creating these, I can’t wait to see what the other girls came up with!
Today I thought I would share a little tutorial with you. I literally have thousands of doilies so I am always trying to find new ways of using them. Here’s a new trick to try 🙂
What you’ll need (plus a sewing machine)
Cut the center out of one doily
Sew a straight line gathering it up as you go along
It should look similar to this
Press it down on the embossing ink pad
Sprinkle embossing powder over it and shake off the access
Heat up the powder until it turns glossy
Now add to your layout or card!
The finished product
Have fun trying out this fun technique!
Whoa this year is on the move! March already?!?! Holy cow! I’m getting caught up on blogging project life.
Here’s week three
Here’s week three
I love the Martha Stewart page protectors from Staples. They are perfect to add extra pics and such.
Week 4 – It ended up to be quite a sad week. One of the moms of a previous student of mine passed away from breast cancer. It was an amazing service, she will be missed by many.
Here are the last few pages of 2011’s December Daily.
Days 22 & 23
Day 24 (Christmas Eve!!!)
Day 25 is the rest of the pages.
We do a lot of house hopping on Christmas Eve and Christmas day
so it always takes extra pages to document them.
What I usually do is include and envelope at the end of the book to house all
of the pictures that didn’t make it into the album.
That way everything is in one place.
I hope you all enjoyed my finished book (better late then never right!)
Have a Happy Monday!
Hello! I finally photographed my December Daily. Christmas feels like it was six months ago doesn’t it? Well better late then never!
Close up. It’s very shimmery but I couldn’t quite capture that in the picture.
Days 1 & 2
Day 3. I found that pink card at the thrift shop. I just loved it and wanted to include it in my book!
One of the things I love most about this project is using found bits and pieces!
Since there are so many pictures I am breaking it into sections so check back tomorrow for more 🙂
Here is week two. So far still loving this project! I know, I know it’s only week two but with the way I lose interest in things that’s a feat 🙂
And last week I finished my December Daily (look for detailed shots coming soon!)
I love December Daily! Ali is a genius for coming up with it!
