Love book

This year I decided to to do a version of December Daily for Valentines day! I made this little book as a spot for Jeff and I to write little notes to each other as well as put pictures and special mementos. It’s made from the Pink Paislee line Sweetness.

I hope everyone has a great month full of love!

CHA top 10

Here are my favorite things from CHA (in no particular order):
1. Amazing dresses from DieCuts With a View. It must have taken so long to create these!

2. Pink Paisley!!!!!!! Love that they have collaborated with House of 3!

3. American Crafts glitter paper, it’s super glittery but the glitter doesn’t fall off!

4. Crate Paper, I love all the lines (yet some how forgot to take a picture there)

5. GCD- their booth was super cute and I love the metal stamps!

6. Basic Grey Hello Luscious line. LOVE IT!

9. Make-N-Takes! Always so fun to get to play with the new stuff!

10. Road trips with my sister! Shes so easy to travel with and we always have so much fun!

planning, planning, planning

Planning for my new scrapbook room is in full swing! It is SO much fun gathering and hunting for the perfect things. This weekend I found the most perfect fabric that is pulling it all together (will share pics later). I was just browsing etsy for pillows and came across this:

Umm yeah I need it!

We enjoyed a wonderful day at my dads Sunday. We played with my camera, enjoyed an amazing sunset and a little entertainment put on by me 🙂 this is my best spider monkey impression. Have a great day!

background tutorial

Here is the tutorial of how I made the background for my ‘Choose’ canvas. I’m really loving this technique and it’s SO easy. The hardest part is waiting for things to dry! (sorry for the bad lighting)

OLW project

I made this canvas for my scrapbook room. My original plan was to go with some sort of chipboard letter but none of the ones I had on hand looked quite right. So I decided to paint the word instead. I don’t love it but I don’t love my handwriting in general either so I might be a bit bias. I figured I will live with if for a while and if I really don’t like it then I can always paint over it later.

The background is one of my new favorite techniques! I also have done it on a layout and mini book cover that I will share later. Tomorrow I will be back with a step by step on how to get that effect, it’s super fun and easy!!!

Have a great night!

One Little Word

Last year I chose a word and did nothing with it. Honestly I kind of forgot about it. This year I was on the fence about doing this project but then thought why not. Hopefully this year it will be easier to stick with since I signed up for Ali’s OLW class at Big Picture Scrapbooking. It’s the first time I’m taking a class through there and I’m super excited! Tonight I made this print to frame. Not sure exactly which room to put it in yet but I love it! I want it to be somewhere where I’ll see it everyday. Once I decide on the room I’ll print it in a coordinating color.

As you can see my word for 2011 is Choose. The class by Ali is so inspiring and so far (I know it’s only January) I am really enjoying it! If you are on the fence I suggest just do it! It ‘s really not as big of a commitment as I thought it was going to be. And MUCH less overwhelming than I thought.

Getting strappy

So I’m totally LOVING my new camera!!!!! I love that it does so much and I have no clue how to use most of the features. It gives me a challenge and something to learn. Love it! One thing that was bugging me about it though was the strap. It was a little scratchy and the rubber backing stuff pulled my hair. So I decided to make this:

It was super fast to make! And it kills two birds with one stone it adds cuteness and doesn’t pull my hair any more…whohoo!
