Goodbye Halloween

This was probably one of the most fun Halloween’s I’ve had since I was little. We partied, eat candy, decorated, and most of all laughed.

Poncho was a little monster (not too far off from his normal self). My niece and nephew were too cute in their costumes!

P.S. I’m working on a little Halloween mini album. Pictures soon 🙂

Halloween love

Ahh yes I love Halloween! It’s my second fave holiday (Christmas being the first of course). This past weekend I had a Halloween party at my house. It was super fun! I was supposed to be Snow White but thanks to party cities slow shipping it didn’t arrive when it was supposed to so I had to improvise. Instead I was a Pretty Pretty Princess…do you remember that game? My sisters and I loved it! I just wore this silver dress I had from Anthro and sewed the pink sparkly tulle to make a skirt. It worked out perfectly and I wish I would have thought of it sooner (thanks Megan for the idea!).

One discovery I made this weekend…I’m in love with carmel apple martinis!!! They are SO yummy and so easy to make. Here’s the recipe:

1 part vodka
2 parts apple schnapps
2 parts butterscotch schnapps
Shake it in a shaker with ice and tada! I also filled my glass with ice to dilute it a bit because they are pretty sweet.

Have a good week!!!!

Handmade Christmas

This year I have decided to challenge myself to make everyone at least one handmade gift. Which means I really need to get started and figure out what everyone needs 🙂

These last few weeks I have been going crazy getting ready for an upcoming Halloween party I’m having at my house. I’m trying to make as many of the decorations as possible. Once it’s put together I will post pics. I love Halloween, it’s just a super fun holiday! And yes I can’t stand all the bad stuff people do and how gruesome some things are. But it’s so fun to dress up and be silly. Of course I still haven’t finalized my costume yet. Any ideas?

Oh and my camera decided to die on me 😦 I turned it on and the lens came out half way then just stopped. The worst part is that when I was trying to figure out what the problem is I dropped it! Ugh, so now the lens is out and crocked because of the fall. I’m pretty sure it’s beyond repair at this point. The bright side is I get to shop for anew one 🙂

Today’s observations

1) Creamy pumpkin candles from Bath & Body Works smell AMAZING!!!
2) One bag of fake spider web goes a long, long way

3) Glittery spiders are the best kind
4) Fall is my most favorite season EVER!!!
5) I really love How I Met Your Mother

Well….

I’m super bummed today 😦 my dad called me last night to tell me my aunt had passed away. After being with her just a week ago I thought she had more time. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. I’m so thankful we were able to go see her while she was still alive and feeling well enough to make us laugh. Since we were just there my sister and I can’t make it back for the services.

We have to be thankful for the times we did have with her and remember to enjoy our loved ones while their here.

Home Again

Last week my Dad, sister and I took a last minute trip to Arkansas to visit my sick aunt. She is not doing well so we went to see her before anything bad happens. It had been at least a year since I had seen her and my uncle so it was a great trip!

Being born and raised in Cali I had my ideas about AR. And yes there are some redneck Larry the Cable Guy type of people there, but not as many as expected :)everyone was super nice! It’s so much greener there than I would have ever thought. My aunt wanted to make sure we saw some sights while we were there so we checked out a few sights. I even got a Little shopping in 😉

We drove there and it just so happens that Albuquerque NM is a half way point between home and my aunts. That worked out really well because on of my besties, Veronica, lives there. We go to see her going and coming. The first night we saw her she cooked us a yummy dinner. The second time we went out for dinner and drinks. It was great to see her!

I’m currently working on a mini album for he trip so I will post pics as soon as I get it done. Have a great week everyone!

Thankful

Today I am feeling very thankful for everything I have in my life. This past weekend an old neighbor of mine lost her husband. My heart is broken for her and their 2 boys. I can’t even imagine how hard it is for her right now.

It makes me realize how fast things can change and that no matter if we’re having a bad day or even PMS 😉 we need to appreciate everyday we have with or loved ones!

Love these crazy kids!

Are you ready for some football???

I sure am!!!!!!!!! It’s my favorite time of year…football is back, the weather is cooler and all things fall are hitting the shelves.

Here’s a mini album I made after a game we went to last year. I sprayed the chipboard with Maya Mist before I added anything to the album. I love the shimmery effect!

Happy football 🙂
