Lately…

life has been so busy! With the end of the school year coming to a close and summer school starting my mind has been focused on work. Last night I finally got a little (and much needed) time to play.

Here’s a peak off some flowers I added to my new floppy hat. As I get older I’m starting to care about being protected from the sun so I thought I should get something I could wear at the beach/lake. I’m not much of a hat person so we’ll see how it goes 🙂

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Inside…

Here’s the rest of my house mini album. For the journaling I used the lyrics to one of my favorite songs, Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. I had the idea for a while and finally did it. All the papers are by Create Paper. I love all their new lines! (click on the pics to make them bigger)

Challenge complete

As some of you might remember Ann-Marie and I started doing our weekly challenges a few months ago then life got in or way and it’s been slightly forgotten. Well I finally got caught up on all the challenges.

My challenge: crate a layout with our using your favorite color.
Result:

This was really a big challenge for me. I started like 3 different layouts but then accidentally used pink so I had to start the challenge again.

Next was Ann-Marie’s challenge: Hidden journaling

OK the next challenge: create a layout using tissue paper.

Have fun!

Heavy heart

This afternoon I received a super sad phone call. My boss called to inform me that one of my students mothers had passed away this morning. She was strapping her children in the car when it started to roll back dragging her 60ft (you can read the story here). I was in complete shock by the news. We had spoke on facebook just hours before. My heart goes out to her family. She has 3 children all under the age of 4 and the youngest is just a few months old. Those poor children, her poor husband. Please say a little prayer that they have strength to go on. I can’t even imaging what they must be going through. Completely devastating.

This is the most unfortunate reminder that life is SO short and things can change in an instant. So please hug your loved ones and tell them you love them everyday. You never know what turns life can take.

To all my friends and family that read this I LOVE YOU! And I’m so happy to have you in my life!!!

Hello! It feels like forever since I’ve been on here. Even to check out what everyone’s up to. So I was in my most favorite place in all the land, Park City, Utah! I seriously feel right at home whenever I’m there (hopefully one day it will be home). Surprisingly, for those who know me, I hardly took any pictures. I know whats wrong with me?!?! Oh well, here’s a few I did get:

An old mine shaft we saw on a hike

My dad and these gigantic eggs he found at Hobby Lobby (which in case you didn’t know is the best store earth) for my niece and nephew

The view into our yard

We shopped and shopped

and shopped!

My creations at Color Me Mine (no they are not meant to go next to each other)

Some shoes I’ve had for a long time and had never worn before

I just thought this great was so pretty

Spring!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter! Now I need to make time to scrapbook these 🙂

Time to play!

I finally got some time to play this weekend and it made me so happy! It was my fist time using me new room. The best part of my room is the functionality. Something that was lacking in my old space. I made a huge mess and was still able to clean it all up in less then 10 min. Miracle! Especially considering it was 3:30am and the last thing I wanted to do was clean 🙂

The journaling is kind of hard to see in the pic but it says “There is so doubt you are my greatest joy!”. Love him!

Here’s one side of my room 90% finished. I still need to make the curtains, pillows, and add the foam on the bench. So far I love it!

This is my grandpas old dresser that we repainted. SO much better in pink…well most things are 🙂 The frame for my magnet board is from a thrift shop (Ale do remember when I bought it?)

My work table is going in the middle of the room. I love looking out into my back yard.
