Finding Balance

On my quest to find balance in my life I realized I need to change the way our home is functioning. In January I made myself a list of all the projects I wanted/needed to get done around the house. I’m finally getting around to staring the list. First project is the biggest: redo the guest room. So far our “guest room” has been a catch all for anything we don’t have time to deal with. I’m done with that! It’s not too often we have a need for an extra bed but the option would be nice. That way if anyone has too much sangria at a scrapbook party they can just stay 🙂 The whole time we’ve lived here I’ve been thinking and planning what I want it to look like. Here are a few inspiration pics.

As you can probably tell it’s going mint! The only problem is finding that right shade. Do you have any idea how many shades of mint are out there?!?! A lot! My goal is to paint this weekend. I’ll post pics of the progress. See you tomorrow for new item Thursday!

Shop news

This month I will be starting New Item Thursday! Every Thursday I will be listing at least one (hopefully more) new items in my Etsy shop. There have been so many ideas swirling around in my head and I can’t wait to share them! Here’s a little sneak of the covers I made for my Park City album:
Check back each week to see whats new!

Sad day

Today I was saddened to hear the news of Jr Seau’s death. Being born and raised in so cal (and obsessed with football) he has always been looked up to in our house. My first thoughts were what could have made him do that? What could be going through his head to make him kill himself? I am so sad for his family and friends. And all the football fans who looked up to him.

It just proves that money can’t buy happiness and that things aren’t always as they appear. Take a minute to tell the ones you love how much they mean to you. You never know how an “I love you” can brighten someones day.

My little side kick joined me while I worked on my vitamin D

Vacation mini

This weekend I had a little bit of free time so I decided to get started on my (not so mini) mini album from out trip. It’s one of those things…either do it now or get back to it five years from now. I’ve chosen to go with a day by day format. Below is a sneak of the dividers for each day.
This is the stack of photos…a little huge. I might need to go buy bigger binder rings 🙂
Have a happy Monday!

Home Sweet Home

Over spring break my love and I took our annual trip to my favorite place, Park City! We had such a good time I never wanted to come back. Despite the lack of snow it was still amazing! Every time I go there I feel like I’m home. Hopefully one day I will call it home (or at least have my own vacation house there).

Friday was the only day it snowed while we were there so we had to take advantage while we could.
I have been there so many times and just discovered these shoe trees! Apparently it was an old miners tradition to throw their shoes in a tree when they got engaged. Next time I’m bringing some shoes to throw in there 🙂
We got to eat at one of my fave restaurants. So yummy!!!
Cute dog just off main street

Since there wasn’t much snow we got to do things we normally don’t like hike at Bridal Veil Falls.
On the way home we drove thru Bryce and Zion. Always such a pretty drive.
One of my favorite things is how you can see the layers of earth. So amazing!

Each year it gets harder and harder to come back. However I am very thankful to live in an amazing city close to the beach.
Did anyone else get to do something exciting over spring break?

Checking in

My days lately have been like this – wake up, rush off to work, get lunch, head to job #2, come home, eat a late dinner, and catch up on recorded episodes of Burn Notice. Have you seen Burn Notice? I love it! Typically I despise any type of shoot-um-up shows or movies but this ones different. It’s smart, funny, and Jeffrey Donovan is hot! Plus the good guys always win which is why I think I love it so much.

Needles to say working  12 hours a day and spending my whined down time watching TV makes it hard to work on scrappy things. Despite that I’ve been keeping up with pictures for my Project Life. Things should slow down a little soon so I can get caught up on blogging its progress.

Have a good week!!!
