december at a glance

Today I went through all my photos so I can print them out for my december daily. These are just a few of my faves I put together in a collage (in picasa). This week I plan to bust out the rest of my december daily. My goal is to be done by the first. I hope everyone had a great Christmas!

What a week

So this week started off with some very bad news. My step-sister got in a serious car accident and broke her neck. She had surgery yesterday but it will be a very long road to recovery. They don’t know the extent of the permanent damage (if any) yet. On the positive side of this I have been bringing my brother to my house each day to hang out until my dad gets off work. It’s nice to spend so much time with him!

My December Daily is in the works and I’m loving it! I haven’t taken pictures of my finished pages yet but I will. Since I have to print the photos out at Costco I wait until I have a weeks worth. In the mean time I plan which photos I want to use, the journaling, size of photo and layout. That way when I pick my prints up it’s easy to assemble the pages.

I got this paper mache reindeer at the thrift shop. I had planned on glittering it so I wanted to take before pictures. When I set it down Poncho jumped up and started licking it. It was too funny and I’m happy I had my camera!

Have a great rest of the week!

So Thankful

The holidays are the best! Even with all the drama and chaos of family. That makes it more interesting 🙂 Since Thanksgiving was on the 26th I thought why not list 26 things I’m thankful for. So here they are:

1. God
2. Being married to my soul mate
3. Our wonderful family
4. The best friends ever
5. Glitter (it makes me happy)
6. My crazy little pup, Poncho
7. November beach days
8. A house to live in
9. Scrapbooking
10. Food
11. My job
12. Christmas
13. Flowers
14. Shopping
15. My health
16. Music
17. Growing up with sisters (their built in playmates)
18. The internet
19. Candles
20. The color pink
21. A working car
22. Shoes
23. Laughter
24. Target
25. Starbucks
26. Endless possibilities

Every time I’m having a bad day or things aren’t going my way I have to stop and remind myself that I am blessed with so much. Life’s never fair but we get over it and move on. That in it’s self is something to be thankful for. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and that you ate some great food!

fun stuff

This week I have had some time to actually make stuff. It’s so wonderful and exciting! My list of pages and mini book ideas is about a mile long so it feels really good to get some things accomplished. But first I have to tell you about an exciting find. You know Micheal’s fabulous dollar section? They have these cute Christmas chipboard books! They had Christmas trees, Santa hats, stars, mittens, gingerbread men, angels and I think snowmen. How perfect! My plan is to make a banner with some of them. I’ll show you once I start making it.

Recently on Ali Edwards blog she was talking about her yearly project called December Daily. She makes an album ahead of time that way she can scrapbook about her day easily and quickly. She starts December 1st and goes through Christmas day (one page pre day). I thought this was a great idea and this year I am doing it. I’ve gathered my materials and started making the book.

I used an old Starbucks bag for the cover (I knew I would need it one day) and most of the pages inside are using Basic Grey Christmas papers. As I do each page in I will post it. The chipboard books would be great in it too.
This book has inspired me to keep daily notes. Not that I will scrapbook everyday of my life but I am trying to document more of the everyday and not just special occasions.

Happy crafting!

Party central

Lately we have been chuck full of parties. Thank goodness I love them! It’s so fun to get together with friends and family. Last weekend was Jeff’s birthday day. I threw him a little surprise party. We had fun tricking him (even though he had an idea). Below are some of the decorations I made for the party.

Here is the layout I did using the pictures from Megan’s black and orange party. (sorry for the really bad pictures)

La la la la la

So I just got super excited, you know why? Because Christmas is coming so soon!!!! It’s my fave. Fall in wonderful but Christmas is just magical!

Today I spent the day with one of my best friends Alessandra. We went to the Vintage Vixens and saw some amazing stuff. There was a lady there, Paris Montana, who had some amazing, chunky, glittery, and fun jewelry. It was pretty heavenly! I wanted to buy her whole trailer! We had a blast!

Last weekend was one of my other best friends, Megan’s black and Orange Halloween party. It was super fun! I love themed parties 🙂

Tonight is another fun Halloween party. All the food is pumpkin! I will take pics and post them soon. Have a great weekend!

P.S. Go Chargers!!!!!

Classroom pics

Here are some pictures of my classroom. I used my Cricut to cut out most of the things.

I cut out the people using the Everyday paper dolls cartridge. The kids choose their hair and clothes. They turned out pretty cute!

This is over the housekeeping area. The chandelier is hanging over the table. Our school motto (I guess you would call it) is Pray. Learn. Grow. I wanted to work it into the room somehow. The chandelier is cut out using the Home Decor cartridge. I cut it out with my deep cut blade and chipboard. I painted it white then sprayed it with spray adhesive and added glitter.

I’m so happy with how it turned out. And for my Cricut, well, I just love it!
Have a good week everyone!

Summers over…

But it is still so hot! I am totally ready for fall. My jackets and long sleeve tops are just waiting patiently in my closet. A couple of weeks ago we took Poncho to dog beach for the 2ND time in his life. The first was horrible so I was hesitant but he loved it! he didn’t even mind all the other dogs coming up to him.

School has started back up again and I moved classrooms this year. It took a lot of extra time to decorate it but it turned out super cute. I will try and remember to take pictures to post. Not that I’m getting settled in there I will have more time for crafty things. Here a couple of things I have made for Etsy. I’ve been having so much fun making these paper flowers. I went to the thrift store and got an old book to use. After I punched them out I sprayed them with glimmer mist.

I’ve also been playing with canvases a lot. It’s been so fun to just make a mess and see what turns out. Also I have made all these things with my scrap paper left over from other projects. It’s great cause my scrap pile was getting a little out of control!

Soon I will giving you more sneak peeks. Have a good weekend!
