How fun I just realized I can text blog posts to my blog from my phone. Too awesome!
crafty things
My dad gave me a bunch of frames he received from a client (I couldn’t believe they were just throwing them away). They are all different sizes and finishes. I’ve been dying to do something fun with them. At Seaside Papery I got some super fun sheets of wrapping paper. It was too pretty to use on just any project. I got the idea to turn one of them into a magnet board for my scrapbook room.

I spray painted the frame black. Got sheet metal from a local metal shop (this was so funny. They were totally freaked out when 2 girls came walking in looking for metal). After I cut the metal to size (with some help from my hubby) I used spray adhesive to glue the paper to the metal. And ta-da a magnet board! So easy and fun because you can make it any size or color you want.

Of course I forgot to take before pictures of the frame. It works perfectly! I’m making more and possibly putting them on my Etsy page (if I can part with them). Once I figure out what I am doing with the other frames I will share them.
Have a great day!
Back from CHA!
Oh my goodness what a fun weekend! Saturday Danielle and I drove up to Anaheim for the CHA super show. We shopped around there for a little while then headed up to the ‘World’s Largest Crop Attempt’ put on by Scrapbook Royalty. We had a blast! Of course we didn’t get very much done but it was worth lugging our stuff around. They gave away a TON of stuff. I won a pink Slice!!! I was so excited I started jumping up and down then my camera went flying out of my pocket.

Plus each person got an amazing goodie bag. All the proceeds went to the Kids In Need Foundation. If they do it again I would definitely recommend going.

The absolute high-light for me was meeting Elizabeth Kartchner! She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. You know when you meet certain people and it’s like you’ve known them all your life? It was like that. She is also even more pretty in person. I was so star struck but I tried to hold myself together. Oh and her new line is AMAZING!!! I can’t wait to use it.
I hope everyone else had a great weekend too!
Taking a break…
from reorganizing my scrapbook room. It’s so hard to spend hours with all my stuff and not play, so I had to!

These Prima flowers are cute just as they are but I bought them with the idea that I can spray them with Glimmer Mist so they will go with any project I’m working on.

This is a close up of after (sorry for the bad pictures it’s dark)
It’s pooring outside!
It rains so seldom here that when it finally does it feels like Christmas to me! This week is supposed to be one big rain storm and I’m SO excited!!!
Last week when it was sunny and nice my friend Veronica and I spent a wonderful day together. She lives far away so when shes in town we try to see each other as much as possible. We decided to have lunch in Coronado at my favorite Mexican food restaurant. It was amazing! We browsed the shops there then headed back home. I have been wanting a dress form for such a long time. Some of the stores there had them but they were crazy expensive. When we got back to my house we had about 4 hours to kill before The Real Housewives of Orange County was on (don’t judge us it’s pure entertainment) so we decided to go to Ross. Right when we walked in I spotted this beauty!
It’s about 6 feet tall. And the best part was it was only $30!!! Can you believe it!?!?!? I couldn’t. So needless to say I had to have it. Jeff is such a trooper, he didn’t even care that we now have a giant dress form in our living room.

Ok back to my scraproom…
Being a tourist at home
A few days ago my BFF(Megan), her boy (Luke) and I went to Solana Beach to shop. Oh my…there are some super cute shops there! It was like inspiration overload. Here are a few pics of the different shops.

This was at this store called Leaping Lotus. It is like a bunch of boutiques all together in one giant store.

Out of the Blue had some great handmade items. It’s like shells and glitter and repurposed items. So fun! I feel like I need to explore this shop a little more because it was so inspiring. I really want that patio set! (plus they teach crafty classes too)

And how funny is this store? I love that it’s named OMG!
There is also this cute little pet boutique called Muttroplis. They had the cutest pet stuff! I got Poncho some shampoo and conditioner (which he loves).
Prayers needed
My younger brother has been battling brain cancer for the last 3 years. This as been so hard on us because he is only 18. He has been doing kemo and last year did radiation. That helped but just for a little while. The cancer is growing again and all they can do is give him kemo (he has had his life-time max of radiation) which isn’t helping. Please pray for his healing and that he can enjoy life for however long that may be. I love you Connor!

Treasures
Last weekend I went to my dad’s house to watch football (his TV is MUCH bigger than ours). He lives on about 5 achers, so after the game I went wondering. He has this pile of wood and a few misc items out in a shed. While I was getting fire wood I saw this little treasure.

Sitting there full of green water, rusting like crazy. So I thought to myself ‘I could totally use that to hold scrapbook supplies’. I brought it to my dad to see if he needed it (obviously he wasn’t using it but you never know if he had a plan). Of course he said I could have it, but he suggested we sandblast the rust off first (I let him do that).

Once it was rust free (well as much as it could be), I washed it off, let it dry, then painted it. What color you ask ~ pink of course! It’s so much cuter now. I just love taking old, ugly, worn out things and making them useful again! I guess I get it from my dad 🙂
December daily
Dum, dum, dum….here it is. Finally got it put together! There are a few things I need to finish up, but I still love it. (to see the pictures bigger just click on them)
It’s about 8 1/2 X 11 and I used my bind-it-all to bind it. This size worked well for me. It allowed me to add many pictures to the pages if I needed to. There are a few things I will do different next time. When I oringinally put this together I added all the numbers to the pages ahead of time. Next time I will wait until I’m making it to do that. There we days I alotted a lot of space for but didn’t need it and then other days the opposite. Next Christmas I will for sure do it again!
Happy New Year!

So far this year is off to a good start. There are so many things I am excited about this year. I think it’s going to be a good one! Since December was kind of crazy I didn’t have time to make all the things I wanted, so I’ve been getting caught up these past 2 weeks. Here are some of the things I have made (sorry for the bad pics it’s dark right now)

This garland was made using punched out circles from an old dictionary I bought at the thrift store. Those sparkly puff balls are by Making Memories I bought them at Target.

I found that Santa at the thrift store. It was originally a magnet but I took the magnet part off and glued him to pages of the dictionary. Then I glued that to a sparkle snowflake from the Wholesale flower market. When I bought Santa his hat was painted purple so naturally I had to glitter it pink 🙂
(and yes my tree is black, it’s awesome)

I made this wreath using the Collage Press Joyride line. I’m in love with that line! It’s so cute and different.
So I didn’t meet my goal of getting my December Daily done by the first. It’s almost done thought I just have to finish the 25th! I’ve really enjoyed this project. Next year (well I guess this year) I plan on doing it again.
Have a great day tomorrow. It’s Friday!!!!!
